About ALQST for Human Rights
ALQST for Human Rights is an award-winning, independent non-governmental organisation working to defend and promote human rights in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region. Our work combines rigorous documentation of human rights violations, international advocacy, and public campaigning to support victims and challenge repression.
About the Role
ALQST is seeking a motivated part-time Digital Media Officer to support our digital communications and outreach. Working closely with a small and committed team, the Digital Media Officer will contribute to strengthening ALQST’s online presence and helping ensure that our human rights documentation and advocacy reach wider and more diverse audiences, including younger audiences in Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may vary depending on skills and interests, and may include:
- Assisting with the creation, editing, and publication of digital content, including written posts, infographics, and short videos, for platforms such as Instagram and TikTok
- Supporting content planning and coordination to ensure alignment with organisational priorities, security protocols, and communications guidelines
- Monitoring content performance and trends, and contributing ideas to improve engagement and reach
- Supporting digital campaign initiatives and other communications-related tasks as needed
Skills and Experience
- A strong interest in digital communications, social media, and impactful storytelling.
- Good understanding of major social media platforms, digital content trends, and audience engagement.
- A genuine commitment to human rights, civic freedoms, and social justice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic.
- Experience with graphic design and/or video editing tools is highly desirable.
- Awareness of digital security, confidentiality, and safeguarding principles, with a commitment to applying them in day-to-day work.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, exercise sound judgement, and maintain professionalism.
- Enthusiasm for ALQST's mission and values, with a proactive, creative, and detail-oriented approach to work.
